Information about cookies

Following the enactment of the relevant amendment to the “Law on Information Society Services” (LSSICE) established by Royal Decree 13/2012, it is mandatory to obtain the user’s prior, express consent for any website that uses non-essential cookies, even before the user browses the site.

What are cookies?

Cookies and other similar technologies, such as local shared objects, flash cookies, or pixels, are technologies used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to ensure the adequate functioning of the site.

Through the use of these technologies, the web server can remember certain data about the user, such as their preferences for viewing the pages on that server, username and password, products they are most interested in, etc.

Cookies subject to the regulation and exempt cookies

According to the EU directive, the cookies that require the user’s informed consent are analytics cookies and advertising and affiliate cookies, with the exception of technical cookies and those necessary for the website to function or to provide services expressly requested by the user.

What types of cookies are there?

There are five main groups of cookies:

  • Analytics cookies: they collect information about how the website is used.
  • Social cookies: they are necessary for external social networks.
  • Affiliate cookies: they allow tracking of visits from other websites with which the website has an affiliate agreement (affiliate companies).
  • Advertising and behavioral cookies: they collect information about the user’s preferences and personal choices (retargeting).
  • Technical and functional cookies: they are strictly necessary for using the website and for providing the contracted service.

Cookies used on this website

  • PREF: a YouTube cookie that stores configuration preferences, such as preferred language, the number of search results displayed per page, etc. Expires 6 months after the last update.
  • YSC: a YouTube cookie that measures video views by the user and records “Like” or “Share video” events. Expires 5 months after the last update.
  • VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE: a YouTube cookie that tracks videos viewed that are embedded on the website. Expires at the end of the session.
  • GPS: a YouTube cookie that records a unique identifier on mobile devices to enable tracking based on the GPS geographic location. Expires at the end of the session.
  • _ga: a Google Analytics cookie that enables the unique visit tracking feature. This cookie is installed the first time a user visits the website via a browser. When this user returns to the website using the same browser, the cookie will recognize them as the same user. Only if the user switches browsers will they be considered a different user.   • _gat_gtag_UA_34896945_2: a Google Analytics cookie used to limit request rate—limiting data collection on high-traffic sites. Expires after one minute.
  • _gid: a Google Analytics cookie used to distinguish users. Expires after 24 hours.
  • _icl_current_language: a WordPress WPML plugin cookie used to remember the language selected by the user and display content in that language throughout the browsing session. Expires after 24 hours.
  • _icl_visitor_lang_js: a WordPress WPML plugin cookie used to remember the language selected by the user and display content in that language throughout the browsing session. Expires after 24 hours.
  • wpml_browser_redirect_test: a WordPress WPML plugin cookie used to remember the language selected by the user and display content in that language throughout the browsing session. Expires at the end of the session.
  • cdp-cookies-plugin-wp: a technical and strictly necessary cookie that stores the user’s cookie consent status. Expires 1 year after the last update.
  • NID: a Google Analytics cookie used for the operation of the CAPTCHA. It stores a code to prevent user impersonation. Expires 6 months after the last update.

HOW TO DELETE COOKIES FROM YOUR BROWSER

Chrome

1. Select the Tools icon.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Show advanced settings.
4. In the “Privacy” section, click Content settings.
• Delete cookies: click All cookies and site data…
• Do not allow cookies to be stored.
5. Click Clear browsing data (clear the cache).
6. Close and restart the browser.

Internet Explorer (Version 11)

1. Select Tools | Internet Options.
2. Click the General tab.
3. In the “Browsing history” section, click Delete browsing history on exit.
4. Select Delete files.
5. Select Delete cookies.
6. Click Delete.
7. Click OK.
8. Close and restart the browser.

Firefox (Version 18)

1. Select Firefox | History | Clear Recent History.
2. Next to “Details,” click the down arrow.
3. Select the following checkboxes: Cookies, Cache, Active logins.
4. On the “Time range to clear” drop-down menu, select Everything.
5. Click Clear Now.
6. Close and restart the browser.

You can accept or reject cookies individually in Firefox Preferences, in the History section under Tools > Options > Privacy.

Safari (Version 5.1)

1. Select the Safari icon / Edit | Reset Safari.
2. Select the following checkboxes: Clear history, Remove all website data.
3. Click Reset.
4. Close and restart the browser.
