Across HP SCDS centers, we participate in, collaborate on, and develop software, firmware, and services to increase the value of a range of HP products and our own portfolio.

Software solutions

We develop a wide range of software solutions, from drivers and on-premises applications to big data and cloud-based platforms. These solutions support HP’s printing (office, large format, and 3D) and computing businesses, among others.

Our drivers are designed to optimize 2D and 3D printer performance across operating systems such as Windows and across multiple applications. In parallel, our desktop and cross-platform tools allow users to monitor device status, manage print queues, and control multiple printers with ease. To ensure reliability, we implement automated testing solutions that improve robustness, optimize resource usage, and guarantee consistent performance.

We also collaborate with the enterprise computing sector to develop hybrid systems for Poly. This work spans firmware, desktop applications, and cloud solutions, enabling fully integrated, multi-platform environments.

Firmware solutions

We work with most large-format and 3D printing systems, covering both prototypes and current products—from the print engine ecosystem to the front panel.

Our firmware controls key mechatronic components, including motors, sensors, and state machines, ensuring precise and reliable operation.

In addition, we have developed a suite of firmware and software libraries that manage the entire printing workflow. These include job submission, format conversion, color rasterization, and printer configuration, helping streamline complex processes.

The Embedded Web Server (EWS), built directly into the printers, allows users to access key functionalities without installation. By connecting through a web browser via the printer’s IP address, users can interact with the system in up to 14 languages.

We also develop firmware for the front panel interface of HP’s large-format printers. As a touch-based system, it provides direct control of device functions while continuously displaying status and subsystem information.

Services

From our centers in Barcelona and León, we provide Level 2 support to clients and partners across EMEA (CET and Webpress) within the large-format area.

In addition, our centers in Madrid, Barcelona, and León provide technical and management support to clients on pay-per-use printing contracts. We manage monitoring solutions, access management, and print security.

Furthermore, we implement solutions, provide support and training, and actively contribute to the design of new proposals for clients and partners in the printing and computing sectors. This includes product presentations and ongoing support.
