Across HP SCDS centers, we participate in, collaborate on, and develop software, firmware, and services to increase the value of a range of HP products and our own portfolio.

Software solutions

We have extensive experience developing all types of software, including drivers, on-premises software, big data, and cloud solutions, using the latest technologies for HP’s printing (office, large-format, and 3D) and computing (hybrid systems) businesses, among others.

We offer drivers that optimize printer use in operating systems such as Windows and across a range of applications. Our desktop and cross-platform software applications enable users to monitor printer status for both 2D and 3D devices, and to manage multiple printers and print queues with ease. In addition, our automated testing solutions help ensure seamless functionality, robustness, and efficient use of resources across our applications.

We also collaborate with the enterprise computing sector to develop hybrid systems for Poly. Our work spans firmware development as well as desktop and cloud applications, ensuring comprehensive solutions across multiple platforms.

Firmware solutions

We work with the majority of large-format and 3D printing systems (prototypes and current products), from the print engine ecosystem to the front panel.

We develop firmware components that control the mechatronic systems (motors, sensors, state machines, and more) of large-format printers, ensuring smooth and precise operation.

We have created a suite of libraries—both firmware and software—to manage the workflow of large-format printers. From job submission to color rasterization, including format conversion and printer configuration, our libraries streamline the printing process.

The Embedded Web Server (EWS) is a web server built into the printers and requires no installation by users. By accessing the printer’s IP address through a web browser, users can use a range of features in up to 14 languages directly from the machine.

Our project aims to develop firmware that controls the front panel of HP’s large-format printers. As a touch-sensitive interface, the front panel gives users direct control of printer functions and gradually displays its status and subsystems. This interface is present in both 2D and 3D large-format printers.

Services

From our centers in Barcelona and León, we provide Level 2 support to clients and partners across EMEA (CET and Webpress) within the large-format area.

In addition, our centers in Madrid, Barcelona, and León provide technical and management support to clients on pay-per-use printing contracts. We manage monitoring solutions, access management, and print security.

Furthermore, we implement solutions, provide support and training, and actively contribute to the design of new proposals for clients and partners in the printing and computing sectors. This includes product presentations and ongoing support.
