Urraca I León exhibition: A Queen with a Kingdom
The Urraca I León exhibition, “Urraca I: A Queen with a Kingdom”, highlights the legacy of one of the most important figures in the history of the Kingdom of León and of Europe.
Today, we joined the Museo San Isidoro for the opening of this exhibition, which marks the 900th anniversary of her death. In addition, the event featured the writer Isabel San Sebastián, who presented her book “La Temeraria” in the Sala del Pendón.
At HP SCDS, we contributed to the Urraca I León exhibition by creating a digital avatar of Queen Urraca using 3D modeling. Moreover, we developed an immersive video that brings her story to life in an engaging and accessible way.
This experience is based on animated illustrations by León-based artist Ricardo Escobar. As a result, visitors can discover the history through the voice of the queen herself.
The exhibition also highlights the historical importance of Urraca I as one of the first female rulers in Europe to exercise power in her own right. Therefore, her legacy continues to inspire new ways of understanding leadership and history.
In addition, projects like this bring together technology and culture to create more immersive and educational experiences. In this way, visitors can engage with history in a more dynamic and meaningful manner.
You can visit the official website of the
Museo de San Isidoro

We encourage everyone to visit the exhibition and experience it firsthand.
