On October 10, we took part in a workshop on workplace absenteeism organized by CEOE Castilla y León, FELE, and Adecco. The event addressed one of the major challenges currently facing organizations.
As part of the workshop on workplace absenteeism, we joined a panel discussion moderated by Enrique Suárez Santos, Secretary General of FELE Empresas de León. We shared insights alongside Javier Ordóñez (HR Director at Lactiber León) and Álvaro Fernández González (HR Director at Coated Solutions).
During the session, we reflected on three key areas that shape how organizations approach absenteeism:
1️⃣Organizational impact: absenteeism affects productivity, workplace climate, and the day-to-day organization of companies.
2️⃣Business best practices: organizations must move from prevention to proactive engagement strategies to reduce the impact of absenteeism.
3️⃣The role of public administrations: institutions play a key role in addressing absenteeism from a structural perspective and supporting long-term solutions.
The workshop on workplace absenteeism highlighted the importance of collaboration between companies and institutions. It also reinforced the need to balance productivity with employee wellbeing.
We work towards a shared goal: increasing not only productivity, but also wellbeing within our organizations.
Thank you to CEOE Castilla y León, FELE, and Adecco for creating this space for dialogue. We also thank the rest of the participants: José Julián Nieto Manjarrés, Rosa Santos Fernández, Santiago Soler, and Juan María Vallejo.
